Labor(-less) Day

Fuck responsibility.  Fuck obligation.  Today is for me.

I ran

4 miles.  It was 86 degrees with the humidity upwards of 90% and still I ran.  

Summer Daze

I open the car door and step out into the heat.  Even though it's after midnight the humidity is so high it feels like the air is sitting on my chest, leaving me damp. 

Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to the trail I go!

I hiked part of the Appalachian trail yesterday.  Approximately 7 miles total.  I started out at the Sunrise Mountain overlook, hiked to the Culver Fire Tower and then retraced the path back to the car.  It was hot.  Even in the shade it was warm enough to make me sweat.  That's saying something coming from a Floridian!  

Rides

I've never fancied myself a risk taker.  In fact, I've spent most of my life watching others take risks and learning from their recklessness.  For some reason riding on the back of a motorcycle with Evan doesn't feel like much of a risk.

Dirty 30

It's been looming since last year about this time and it has only gotten worse as time goes on.  Birthdays are a rough time for me. There is something about getting a year older that I have always found disconcerting.  This birthday in particular is a big one.
