New Leash on Life

A post from my pup:

For those of you who haven't met me, my name is Remington.  I want to start out by clearing up what kind of mix breed I am because I know it irritates my mom when everyone asks about it.  My biological mom was a Yorkie and my dad was a Maltese.  My great aunt Gertie was a mongoose though so I've got a little something special mixed into my gene pool.  I don't know why that matters so much to people, but now you know.

I was rescued 8.5 months ago and this is my story...

Wrapping up 2016

This has been one of the most mentally challenging years of my life.  Over two years ago I decided to pursue PA school and this year was the worst of it.

Final Week 9/11-9/18

This final week post is a week late.  This challenge really kicked my ass and I think I've learned a lot because of that.  I will keep writing, but it will nice to write just to write, and not because I have set some stupid arbitrary goal for myself.  So, the take home message is this:  Attacking creativity in my usual militant goal-oriented way doesn't lead to success.  I can't treat my writing like I treat my to-do list.  I can't sit down and fit it in between laundry and school stuff.  I have to make it a priority to write when I feel inspired instead of trying to schedule it in when I think I have time.

Without further ado, the last installment of this godforsaken challenge:

8/24-8/27

As I close in on the end of my first week of this challenge, I have to acknowledge that I am not going to accomplish what I was hoping for with this project and that's okay.

8/22-8/23

8/22 -- Fail!

Not even a week into this challenge and I've already managed to let life get in the way.  Yesterday was my first day back to work after vacation and then I met up with friends to play Cards Against Humanity until long past my bedtime.  I chose social activities over writing and I missed a day.  It sucks but I'm going to try not to beat myself up over it.

Moving on....
