8/24-8/27

As I close in on the end of my first week of this challenge, I have to acknowledge that I am not going to accomplish what I was hoping for with this project and that's okay.

8/22-8/23

8/22 -- Fail!

Not even a week into this challenge and I've already managed to let life get in the way.  Yesterday was my first day back to work after vacation and then I met up with friends to play Cards Against Humanity until long past my bedtime.  I chose social activities over writing and I missed a day.  It sucks but I'm going to try not to beat myself up over it.

Moving on....

8/19-8/21 mind babbles

Welcome all to my first 30 day challenge writing post!  I am really enjoying this challenge so far but it is surprisingly emotional and exhausting.  Acknowledging my inner musings enough to write them down expends more energy than I was expecting.  Writers have a tough job!  Being locked in your head like that all the time takes dedication and skill.  I hope I get use to it as time goes on.

Anyway, without further ado, here are the first three days worth of my writing:

The Right to Write

Writing is something that I never thought I was good at.  I had this dick of an English teacher my Junior year of high school who gave me a complex.  He refused to give me an A on any paper I wrote no matter how hard I worked on it.  His response was always the same, "You can do better than this!"  At the time I thought I was trying my hardest and that he was being an asshole.  He wouldn't sign me up for his AP class the following year because he felt I wasn't ready and that I wouldn't do well enough.
